OSOT members have access to prepaid legal advice through the society's members'
legal plan. Pick up the phone at any time and get answers to your questions with no worry about
legal billings!
As practice environments become more complex and in some cases more litigeous,
occupational therapists are advised to build legal consultation into their practice
patterns.
This plan, administered through Sykes Canada Corporation provides telephone based
advisory services on employment related issues. Services are provided by an experienced panel of
lawyers.

Call toll free 1-800-263-9625 for access to bilingual telephone advisory services, 24 hours Monday to Sunday. Plan covers questions related to the following types of law;

Lawyer Referral Service
If legal services are required that go beyond the advisory limits of the plan, members may referred to a plan lawyer in their area and be entitled to received a preferred rate of 25% below the lawyer's standard hourly fee.
