Allied Health Professional Development Fund continues in 2009-2010

HealthForceOntario's Allied Health Professional Development Fund (AHPDF) will be offered again in 2009/2010. The AHPDF provides financial support for practicing health professionals of nine allied health professions (including OT) to support professional development activities. Professionals will be able to apply for as much as $1500 for professional development courses and programs.
The purpose of the fund is to develop skills and enhance knowledge and leadership capacity among allied health professionals. This year, the fund will continue to provide grants for professional development opportunities completed between April 1, 2009 and March 31, 2010.

Applying for reimbursment from the Allied Health Professional Development Fund
· Save receipts from any professional development activities for which you wish to apply for reimbursement
· Secure proof of successful completion of the PD event
· Review program funding criteria to determine eligibility and to assist in determining your application process (for example, Fund will only fund first application until end of year when any unspent reserves will address second application funding.)

This innovative health human resources strategy is designed to ensure the people of Ontario have access to right number and mix of health care professionals, now and in the future.
