Information for Healthcare Professionals About Monkeypox

The Chief Medical Officer of Health has launched information for physicians, nurse practitioners, and regulated health professionals who practice at public hospitals and local public health units. The following information is available about Monkeypox:

• Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) Recommendations for Monkeypox in Health Care Settings (publichealthontario.ca)
• Information about Monkeypox including signs and symptoms
• The Order - mandatory reporting requirements relating to patients who display symptoms
• Public Health Ontario

Occupational therapists are required to follow their organization's requirements for IPAC measures. It is important for OTs to be able to identify clients who may display symptoms in order to identify them to the appropriate person(s).
