As the first of several webinars in this educational series, this webinar is dedicated to launching OSOT’s newly designed website named En-AGE (Enabling Ageing, Growth and Engagement). En-AGE (www.en-age.ca) is a knowledge portal designed to increase public awareness about the ways that occupational therapists can support older adults as they navigate challenges related to later life course transitions. This webinar will provide an overview of the website, clarify terminology, identify common life course transitions in older age, and position occupational therapists as leaders in seniors’ care. Attendees will learn how to locate resources to inform their practice, and how the website can be offered as a tool for clients and caregivers. Subsequent webinars will delve into specific life course transitions and concepts introduced during this session.

About our Presenters:
Barry Trentham is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy at the University of Toronto. His research interests include exploring the intersections among the social determinants of healthy aging, diversity and inclusion, social justice, and community participation and engagement. Barry serves as the chair of the OSOT En-AGE Advisory Council.
Sachindri Wijekoon is a researcher committed to advancing inclusion and quality of life of older adults, particularly of those who experience varying and intersecting forms of marginalization. The En-AGE web portal is the outcome Sachindri’s postdoctoral fellowship. Over the last 2 years, Sachindri has coordinated the development of the portal with oversight from the OSOT En-AGE Advisory Council.
