This half day virtual workshop is intended for Occupational Therapists unsure about their practice of psychotherapy. It will include support with understanding the parameters and guidelines set out for the practice of psychotherapy by the College of Occupational Therapist’s of Ontario (COTO). It is designed to be self-reflective to assist OT’s with understanding their own practice.

Participants will have access to presentation recordings until June 24, 2021.

Session Topics:

  • Understanding the COTO Standards for Psychotherapy
  • Understanding when Psychotherapy is a controlled act
  • Understanding OT psychotherapy supervision needs 


About our Presenter:

Gordon Hirano 
is an Occupational Therapist with over 30 years of clinical experience. He has a Masters degree in Rehabilitation Counseling and has extensive post-graduate training in psychotherapy. Gord actively does psychotherapy with adults with schizophrenia, anxiety, depression and chronic pain as well as psychotherapy training and supervision with OTs.
