ONE KIDS PLACE – Children’s Treatment Centre provides rehabilitation and related support services for children and youth (up to the age of 19) and their families living in the Districts of Muskoka, Nipissing and Parry Sound. All staff will provide service within an interdisciplinary team environment committed to family-centered practice.
POSITION: (2) 1.0 FTE Occupational Therapist
1 Permanent Full-Time
1 Contract Full-Time (to March 31, 2021)
LOCATION: Nipissing
EFFECTIVE: ASAP
POSITION SUMMARY
The Occupational Therapist provides assessment, consultation and treatment planning to assist children and youth to achieve their optimum rehabilitation potential in all areas of self-care, productivity and leisure, perception and cognition from a pediatric perspective. Note that clinical supervision of therapy assistants and family education will be important components of all positions.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in Occupational Therapy
- Current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
- 2 years related work experience in a pediatric/health care setting with children and youth with special needs
- Working knowledge of community resources and supports within the Districts of Muskoka, Nipissing and Parry Sound
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills/Excellent oral and written communication skills Valid Ontario driver’s license, proof of insurance and reliable vehicle
- Computer competency and adaptable in the use of computer software for the purpose of assessments, documentation, programming and communication.
- Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset/ADP authorizer is preferred
