Description of Opportunity

Part-time Professor – Occupation Therapist Assistant and Physiotherapist Assistant

Effective Date:  September – December 2022 (possibility of continued teaching in January semester)

 

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Delivering in person and/or hybrid courses in the Occupational Therapist Assistant/Physiotherapist Assistant program
  • Developing and delivering appropriate curriculum to meet course objectives
  • Incorporating a variety of teaching / learning strategies to meet student needs
  • Engaging the students through active learning techniques and experience in the field
  • Evaluating student progress / achievement
  • Participating in program and college activities as required
  • Creating and maintaining a positive learning environment
  • We are recruiting teaching faculty for several courses for a 14-week semester unless otherwise noted; skill sets would be dependent on the course of interest
 

An Occupational Therapist is required for the following courses:

  • Cognitive and Perceptual Impairment (Lecture)– 3 hours x 2 sections for 10 weeks only
  • Health Conditions 2 (Lecture) – 2 x 3hr sections
  • Essentials of Client Centered Practice (Lecture) - 2 hours x 1 section
 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Registered Occupational Therapist
  • Current registration, and in good standing, with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
  • Teaching and Training Adults certification and / or experience in a teaching or training capacity
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment
  • Demonstrated communication, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
