Embracing the Role of Occupational Therapy in Fertility Care

Date and Time: February 15, 2023 from 12:00-1:00pm

Webinar Description:

Infertility is a prevalent issue for many people, affecting approximately 1 in 6 couples in Canada. Experiencing infertility often results in changes to one’s daily life, identity, roles, and routines, whereby it reduces engagement in various occupations. This highlights the value of occupational therapy in supporting the care and wellbeing of this target population. This webinar will explore the processes involved in establishing an innovative role-emerging OT position within the private sector and will provide an overview of the OT role in fertility and prenatal/postpartum care.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand our process for establishing an emerging occupational therapy role within the private sector.
  • Learn about the OT role in fertility and prenatal/postpartum care.
  • Learn about our challenges relating to advocating for occupational therapy in new practice areas/settings.
