Ontario Government Surveys Occupational Therapists to Assess Human Resource Capacity
The Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services is undertaking a human resource survey of professions who work with children, youth or adults with special needs. OSOT urges ALL members to support this work which will support human resource planning.

WHAT IS THE SPECIAL NEED WORKFORCE SURVEY?
The objective of the Special Needs Workforce Survey is to better understand the availability, distribution, and competencies of Ontario's workforce for clinical special needs services. This survey data will be used for research purposes to support planning for programs that fund and/or directly provide services to individuals with special needs, including developmental disabilities and autism spectrum disorder.
Occupational therapists and their assistants and consultants, are an important segment of the special needs workforce, and the Ministry is very interested in learning about their professional experience, interests, and needs.

ALL MEMBERS ARE REQUESTED TO COMPLETE THE SURVEY
The Ministry is interested to hear from all Ontario occupational therapists, whether currently working with the special needs population or not, working full-time, part-time, on leave, etc. They are interested to understand and assess the kinds of supports and growth the profession of occupational therapy might require to increase capacity within the profession.
Participation is voluntary. All responses will be kept confidential. OSOT urges your participation.
