OSOT Launches New Home & Community Care Team - We're seeking volunteer members!

OSOT monitors and addresses issues and opportunities for occupational therapy practice across all sectors of Ontario's health system. Additionally, the Society works to identify member needs for supports, resources and professional development to support their practice excellence in each sector. OSOT Sector Teams are important and valued resources that support this work.

The Society is currently engaging a Home &  Community Care Sector Team.

While the pandemic has created unique challenges, these times have brought out OT HomeCare community together. We anticipate interesting opportunities for occupational therapists in the home and community sector when government is again able to focus on its transformation agenda to more truly integrated care. Earlier this year, the Ministry of Health announced a Modernization Strategy for Home and Community Care and launched a public consultation on proposed regulation changes that would support better integration of home and community care in Ontario Health Teams. While this work has been delayed by the pandemic occupational therapists will wish to be well prepared to participate when it recommences.

OSOT Teams are typically 6-10 members in size and meet virtually at a self determined frequency, often monthly. We aim for diversity of perspectives/experiences on Teams to best represent the diversity of OSOT membership. Teams are supported by OSOT staff to address annual objectives they set. We believe it's an interesting way to link with colleagues who share practice interests and passions, to gain a big picture perspective of the profession and sector and to contribute in a meaningful way to your profession.

We invite interested members to submit an expression of interest and a short CV to osot@osot.on.ca. We look forward to your interest!
