Implications for Occupational Therapists
Occupational therapists deliver important services in Ontario's home and community care system.  It has been the profession's longstanding position that our home care program has become focused on providing care as opposed to adopting an enabling approach to promote an individual's highest potential for function.  As the province moves to more integrated health service delivery models, OSOT believes that occupational therapy will become ever more important in the community, facilitating early discharge from hospital and supporting Ontarians to live safely and independently in their homes for as long as possible.
