Ministry of Health Announces Expansion of the Primary Care Workforce
The Ministry of Health has announced $30 million to expand the province’s primary health care workforce through funds to upskill registered nurses, as well as create new nurse practitioner and physician assistant education seats. Although allied health providers are included in the Primary Care Action Plan, the government must turn their attention to include us at the table and in their programs. OSOT continues to advocate for the role of occupational therapy in primary care, for the expansion of education seats and for upskilling opportunities for OTs and OTAs.
