Networking

One of the most valuable professional resources the Society offers its members is the “network of its membership community”. Over 4,600 strong, OSOT members come together in support of their profession and each other. Consider the following opportunities to engage in professional networking:

OSOT OT Interest Group Directory

A listing of OT Interest Groups identified by OSOT members in communities across the province. Join a group or link with a group in which members share your clinical interests to consult on your practice or service development challenges. View the OT Interest Group List.

OSOT "Find-a-Colleague" Network

An OSOT resource that enables members to find and connect with other members for the purposes of networking.  Find a colleague or many who share your professional interests or practice focus and expand your network.  People network for all sorts of reasons – peer support, informal consultation, developing practice ideas, etc. You have a rich source of expertise in the OSOT membership – use it! Learn more and access the Network now!

OSOT Teams and Task Forces

Working on behalf of OSOT members and the profession of occupational therapy, OSOT Teams and Task Forces are organized around key practice sectors and can be an excellent contact for questions or consultation. See the OSOT Teams/Task Forces contact listing.

OSOT Mentorship Program

"Mentoring is to support and encourage people to manage their own learning in order that they may maximize their potential, develop their skills, improve their performance and become the person they want to be." Eric Parsloe, The Oxford School of Coaching & Mentoring.  OSOT offers resources and an online tool to enable individuals looking for a mentor to access listings of members who are willing to consider mentorship relationships. Learn more about the Mentorship Program!

OSOT Online Communities of Practice

OSOT has introduced member-protected online communities to facilitate professional networking, sharing of advice, best practice and resources and identification of issues and opportunities members of the community are identifying. While there is a potential for a community for each practice sector within the profession, OSOT is starting gradually to introduce and gain experience with this format of virtual networking. Learn more and join a community!
