OSOT is your professional association representing nearly 5,000 occupational therapists, occupational therapist assistants, and students. OSOT is entering into the second year of a dynamic new strategic vision which commits to proactively supporting, promoting, and positioning the profession of occupational therapy in Ontario.
OSOT is seeking:
- Three directors for a 3-year term.
- One director for a 2-year term.
No prior experience is required, although it is preferred.
All terms begin March 2025.
What we are seeking:
- Attendance at Board Meetings approximately 10 times per year.
- Participation in up to two Standing Committees.
- Monthly commitment of up to 7 hours per month (including meetings and preparation time).
What you get from us:
- Training and support for Board activities including orientation, access to policies and procedures, ongoing education, etc.;
- Travel and administration expenses reimbursed.
- Complimentary attendance at OSOT’s annual conference and other volunteer recognition activities.
Eligibility
To be eligible to run for a position on the Board, you shall:
- be an Active or Honourary Life member of OSOT as an occupational therapist*;
- not have the status of bankrupt; and
- not be a person who has been found to be incapable by any court in Canada or elsewhere.

*OSOT's Bylaws state that OTA Board members may be recruited once a minimum number of OTA members is achieved. As of yet, we have not reached this threshold.
