OSOT Responds to Health Human Resource Crisis

As we know, there is a health human resource crisis not just locally but nationally and internationally as well. The Ontario Government has focused its support to increase the number and retention of nurses and personal support workers only – and has ignored all other health professions.

On March 28, 2022, OSOT submitted a letter to David Lamb, Director, Capacity and Health Workforce Planning with the Ministry of Health, outlining issues impacting the healthcare system related to occupational therapy, interprofessional teams, and service provision. We offer solutions to issues which, we believe, would support quality care to all Ontarians while supporting recruitment, retention, and job satisfaction of occupational therapists, leading to relief to this crisis.
