Premier Wynne Addresses New Priorities to Cabinet Ministers – implications for OT

September 12th's Speech from the Throne marked the commencement of a new government and with it the Premier forwarded new Mandate Letters to her 35 Cabinet Ministers to identify key priorities for their Ministry over the remaining term of government. Each Minister's letter identifies the Ministry’s unique priorities as well as priorities for collaboration with other Ministries and an overview of accomplishments to date.

Implications for Occupational Therapists
Occupational therapists will be interested to view government priorities that have implications for the profession of OT and the clients we serve. Of the 35 ministry letters, 11 have significant initiatives that OTs will wish to be aware of.

The mandate letters give clear direction to the key activities of government. OSOT will be reviewing these priorities to ensure that occupational therapists’ inputs, perspectives and advocacy can be brought to these issues.
