Service Canada Consultation with OTs regarding CPP-Disability Benefits
As part of the Government of Canada’s commitment to improving services to clients, Service Canada will be conducting engagement sessions with Canada Pension Plan Disability stakeholders for the purpose of:
- Gaining a better understanding of the Canada Pension Plan Disability (CPP-D) client experience through the lens of disability advocacy groups and non-governmental organizations; and,
- Hearing about your experience working with Canadians with disabilities.
Service Canada understands that many Occupational Therapists play an important role in caring for and supporting patients with certain medical conditions who apply for Canada Pension Plan Disability benefits. We are interested in hearing views from the occupational therapy profession in two areas:
- Challenges patients and OTs experience with the application for Canada Pension Plan Disability benefits; and,
- How Service Canada can improve its outreach to the occupational therapy community to support OTs’ knowledge of the CPP-D program, possibly through continuing professional development.
