Description of Opportunity

The Dryden Regional Health Centre is seeking to fill the following position:

Permanent Full-Time Occupational Therapist

Reporting to the Manager- Rehabilitation Services, as an Occupational Therapist with the Dryden Regional Health Centre you will have many opportunities to challenge yourself through applying a broad range of skills to your work with our patients/clients.

Responsibilities:

? Complete assessments, treatment and discharge planning for a 41 bed inpatients unit.

? Working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team to provide care and successful planning for patients to remain as independent as possible and work on discharging to the most appropriate setting

? You will also be part of a robust Rehabilitation department consisting of 5.4 physiotherapist, 3.6 occupational therapists, 2.4 rehab assistants and 2 kinesiologists that provide outpatients, homecare and Family Health Team program support allowing for collaboration and consultation

? Complete ADP applications for mobility devices, wheelchair prescription, home safety assessments, bathroom safety assessments, bathroom equipment recommendations, falls prevention teaching, kitchen assessments, cognitive assessments

? Provide recommendations for managing changes in cognition, patient and family/care giver education

Qualifications:

? Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy

? Registration, or eligibility for Registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario

? Preference given to applicants who are Registered Assistive Devices Program (ADP) Authorizers in the Ambulation Aids, Wheelchair and Positioning Devices/Seating categories

? Must possess a valid driver’s license

? Demonstrated ability to apply theoretical knowledge in problem solving and troubleshooting ? Ability to communicate clearly, teach, problem solve and organize

? Flexibility and willingness to work as part of team

? Effective organizational and written skills

? Proficient computer skills

? Able to work and manage a case load independently and with other multi-disciplinary team members

? Demonstrates behaviours consistent with the Dryden Regional Health Centre’s Code of Conduct,

? Standards of Behaviour and with the DRHC Core Values; Accountability, Integrity, Humility, Compassion and Respect

? Proof of Covid-19 vaccination

Salary Range: $90,000 – $103,000 per year
