FACULTY POSITION

3-Year Limited-Term - Lecturer or Assistant Professor School of Occupational Therapy
50% of Full-Time hours

The Faculty of Health Sciences invites applications for a 3-year Limited-Term faculty appointment (50% of Full-Time hours) at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant Professor where they will take an active role in both teaching and service. The successful candidate will be appointed to the School of Occupational Therapy; one of the six Schools in the progressive Faculty of Health Sciences.

The successful candidate will hold a master degree from an entry to practice occupational therapy program or a doctoral degree in a related field, and be registered or eligible for registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO). A doctoral degree is preferred. The candidate is required to have experience in occupation-based practice across the lifespan. Continued active involvement in an occupational therapy practice setting is an expectation. Teaching experience in interprofessional education, student mentorship in fieldwork, and experience leading Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Decolonization initiatives would be assets. Additional consideration will be granted for an applicant with proficiency related to Canada’s Indigenous and/or marginalized populations.

The accredited School of Occupational Therapy is recognized, nationally and internationally, for leadership in occupational therapy and occupational science. The School is committed to the development of occupational therapy as a science-driven, evidenced-informed, and occupation-focused academic discipline with an established masters (MScOT) entry-level professional program. The School has excellent teaching and research facilities as well as clinical and community facilities to support the development of occupational therapy. The School is a major contributor to the MSc and PhD programs in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences. In partnership with the Graduate Program in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, the School of Occupational Therapy is the first Canadian program that provides an opportunity to pursue graduate education in Occupational Science and to obtain combined MScOT/PhD degrees.

Salary and rank commensurate with experience and qualifications. The start date of the appointment is July 1, 2023, or as negotiated.
