Call for Patient Reported Outcome Measures: Using the COPM

Patient Reported Outcome Measures (PROM) are increasingly being used to drive patient-centred care and decision making in health care. Occupational therapy has a long history of including patients' voices in outcome measurement. This webinar will provide participants with an overview of PROMs and describe how the Canadian Occupational Performance Measure is used and can be used as a PROM. 

Learning Objectives:

  • To understand what a Patient Reported Outcome Measure is and how it is used in the health system. 
  • To describe the Canadian Occupational Performance Measure.
  • To identify the COPM as a PROM.


About our Presenters:

Dr. Helene Polatajko 
is an internationally respected occupational therapy scholar and teacher and a valued mentor. She has well over 300 publications, has done over 550 presentations in more than 20 countries, and has held over $10,000,000 in grants. Her work has focused on occupation and its enablement. Prominent among her contributions are co-authorship on the Canadian Occupational Performance Measure and the two Enabling Occupation books. Dr. Polatajko has been granted numerous top awards and distinctions including the Muriel Driver Lectureship, and, most recently, been made an officer of the order of Canada.

Beth Linkewich is the Director of the Regional Stroke & Neurovascular Programs, and North & East GTA Stroke Network at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. She is an occupational therapist with experience across the continuum of care in clinical, research, administrative, and academic settings. She works with system leaders to implement integrated best practice stroke prevention and care. She is passionate about health systems, care integration, leadership, stroke and cognition, evaluation, interprofessional collaboration, and innovative models of service delivery.
