Developing prescriptions for seating and mobility systems is a collaborative process. The client, occupational therapist and/or ADP authorizer, CRT/vendor representative need to clearly understand how the assessment findings will impact the equipment selection and service delivery process. In Ontario, accessing funding is an essential step. As a result, it is important for all team members to be aware of their roles and responsibilities to ensure efficiency and accuracy in the funding application process to achieve successful positioning and mobility outcomes for clients. This webinar is designed to provide a basic understanding of client eligibility, when to complete a funding application, and how to establish realistic expectations of the equipment provision process.
By the end of this webinar you will be able to: Identify 3-4 elements of the assessment that will contribute to a successful seating and mobility prescription. List 3 ways the “WHO 8 essential steps” support the collaboration of therapists and vendors in the wheelchair provision process. Understand 2-3 responsibilities of the therapist in the seating/mobility equipment provision process. Identify 2-3 responsibilities of the vendor in the seating and mobility equipment provision process.
