Through case review you will learn the specific CAT criterion and the role of the OT on each of the criteria. OTs that are treating clients that may apply for catastrophic designation or OTs that are completing CAT assessments on any criteria will have the opportunity to exchange ideas and learn from each other with regards to using assessment tools, being part of an assessment team, screening for red flags before the assessment and reviewing the Standards for Assessment.
Learning Objectives: Review the CAT criteria. Discuss issues related to occupational therapy CAT assessments such as principles of assessment, team assessment, and red flags before assessment. Discuss assessment tools to be used for each criterion. Discuss what it means to be part of an assessment team. Review the Standards for Assessment/Practice to ensure they are being followed.
