A traumatic brain injury (TBI) can cause a myriad cognitive, emotional, and physical changes in an individual. Due to the complexity of these injuries, a coordinated, multidisciplinary approach to rehabilitation is necessary. However, implementing this kind of approach can be challenging for clinicians.
Leslie Birkett (Occupational Therapist) and Deidre Sperry (Speech-Language Pathologist) are practicing clinicians who have spent their careers working collaboratively to develop and implement cross-discipline community-based interventions for traumatic brain injury. In this webinar, Leslie and Deidre will share their insights and strategies on incorporating collaboration between SLPs and OTs into practice. Attendees can expect to learn the following: 1. Practical methods for developing rehabilitation programs that help clients to better deal with the demands and challenges of daily life. 2. How to develop collaborative, functionally-oriented, cognitive rehabilitation programs that target meaningful everyday activities.
Leslie and Deidre draw upon their years of professional clinical experience and have based the content of the webinar around the INESSS-ONF Clinical Practice Guideline for the Rehabilitation of Moderate-to-Severe TBI.
