Primitive reflex integration is a term being used in a variety of fields resulting in various approaches to treatment. This course provides therapists with a functional approach to evaluating and treating primitive reflexes. It focuses on understanding the neuroanatomy of primitive reflexes, supporting research, and the importance of analyzing posture, biomechanics, and qualitative movement patterns. Therapists learn how to effectively evaluate primitive reflexes and utilize a functional and play-based approach to primitive reflex integration. It provides a deeper understanding of the way in which various primitive reflexes support each other and mature in relationship to one another. Videos are presented throughout the course to support the integration of the material. This approach to primitive reflexes strengthens the clinician’s ability to create a play-based and functional treatment approach to achieve functional skills faster.
This course is relevant for Physical Therapists, Physical Therapist Assistants, Occupational Therapists, and Occupational Therapy Assistants.
