OSOT Honours Colleen O'Neill With the 2023 OSOT Award of Merit

The Ontario Society of Occupational Therapists is pleased to announce that Colleen O'Neill is the 2023 OSOT Award of Merit recipient!

The Award of Merit is in recognition of: accomplishment in occupational therapy practice in Ontario with demonstrated significant volunteerism, leadership, accomplishment and/or advocacy within the profession. 
          
 
Colleen's achievements include:
  • Over 25 years as a direct service provider
  • Championed Aging at Home initiative, expanded seating clinic to underserved populations
  • Teaching workshops, supervising students
  • More than 10 years in leadership role in primary care 
  • Chair of OSOT’s Primary Health care Team 
  • Advocate for OT on Family Health Teams, mental health in primary care 
  • Recipient of the 2023 CAOT/McMaster University Fieldwork Award 

We would also like to recognize all of the nominees:
  • Sandra VanderKaay: For involvement in research on trauma informed pedagogy, positive engagement and support of students and colleagues.
  • Sheila Buck: For exceptional commitment to education, client centered intervention and leadership in the area of seating and mobility.
