Celebrating OSOT's 105th Anniversary

Incorporated on January 19, 1921, OSOT became the first occupational therapy organization in Canada, establishing the profession's roots and championing the value of occupation for health and well-being.

Now, as we celebrate our 105th anniversary, we're honouring that legacy while embracing a fresh vision for Ontario's occupational therapy community.

Here's a glimpse of what's coming in the weeks ahead:

1) Board Election: Record Number of Nominations and Voting Now Open

Board elections opened with record number of nominees, so be sure to cast your vote and help shape OSOT's leadership! Eligible occupational therapists check your email for voting instructions. Looking ahead, we're also excited to be growing our occupational therapist assistant (OTA) membership with the goal of welcoming OTAs to vote and serve on the Board of Directors. Once we reach 570 OTA members, OTAs will be eligible to participate fully in our election process. Help us reach this milestone!

2) New Affiliate Membership

We're thrilled to launch our new Affiliate Membership! This membership category welcomes companies, organizations, and supporters to join our network and champion occupational therapy in Ontario. It's an exciting way to expand our community and strengthen connections. If you know a business, institution, or organization that values occupational therapy, invite them to become part of our growing association. Stay tuned for details!

3) A Refreshed Identity: New Name, New Look

Following approval from OSOT's Board of Directors last June, members will soon have the chance to vote to approve a new name for the organization at our Annual General Meeting on March 27 (details to come). Throughout the year, OSOT will be updating our logo and refreshing our branding to better serve our community.

4) OSOT Over the Years

As OSOT celebrates its 105th anniversary, watch the weekly newsletter for interesting facts and memorable milestones from OSOT's history.

5) 105 Hours of Learning and Professional Development

To mark OSOT's 105th anniversary, our target is to deliver 105 hours of learning and professional development throughout the year. From workshops and webinars to our annual conference and specialized learning sessions, we're investing in your professional growth. Stay tuned for exciting new opportunities coming soon!
