HQO Consults on Draft Standards for Anxiety Disorders & Obsessive Compulsive Disorder 


OSOT encourages members working in mental health with experience in assessing and treating persons with Anxiety Disorder or Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder to review the draft Quality Standards for Care and to provide comment to the Health Quality Ontario consultation.  Note the deadline for input is Monday March 18, 2019.

Draft Quality Standards for Anxiety Disorder

This quality standard addresses care for people with an anxiety disorder. It applies to care for people in all settings but focuses on primary and community care. This quality standard addresses the following anxiety disorder types: specific phobia, social anxiety disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, and agoraphobia. It focuses on care for adults but also includes content that is relevant for children and adolescents.  Note… an occupational therapist was on the Advisory Committee!

  • The Quality Standard is intended to help health professionals know what quality care looks like, based on evidence and expert consensus.
  • The Patient Conversation Guide is developed to assist people who have an anxiety disorder know what to ask for in their care. 

 

Draft Quality Standard for Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder

This quality standard addresses care for people with obsessive–compulsive disorder. It applies to care for people in all settings but focuses on primary and community care. This quality standard focuses on care for adults, but it includes content that is relevant for children and adolescents. This quality standard does not address care for some disorders that are related to obsessive–compulsive disorder (e.g., body dysmorphic disorder, hoarding disorder, excoriation disorder, or trichotillomania). Note… an occupational therapist was on the Advisory Committee!
