Ontario Invests in Rehabilitation for Children/Youth with Special Needs

The Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services has announced $60 million in new annual funding for 4 years to be provided to Children's Treatment Centres and Preschool Speech and Language programs annually.  This enables 47,000 more children access to needed rehab services such as occupational therapy.

This represents a component of the $240 million funding announcement to be spent over four years to increase access to critical rehabilitation services for children and youth with special needs and help them live happier and healthier lives. This investment is part of the 2021 Budget, Ontario’s Action Plan: Protecting People’s Health and Our Economy.

This acknowledges the critically important roles OTs, PTs and SLPs provide to support kids and their families.
