This session aims to review the unique practice of in vivo exposure therapy in occupational therapy practice. OTs will gain further understanding of how this psychotherapy approach can support functional goals for clients and how exposure is performed in practice.

 

By the end of this webinar you will:

  • Understand the clinical rationale for the use of exposure therapy in practice.
  • Gain an understanding of training and resources needed to support this practice.
  • Understand the core concepts of exposure therapy and how to apply these in practice during formal in vivo exposure therapy sessions.

Presenter:
Vikki Madden, OT Reg. (Ont.), Psychotherapist, Clinical Psychotherapy Supervisor, Functionability Rehabilitation Services 
is an OT who has been practicing Occupational Therapy-psychotherapy for over 20 years. In addition to clinical practice, Vikki has been providing clinical psychotherapy supervision for the past 8 years supporting the practice of nearly 40 occupational therapists. Vikki is a passionate practitioner who is eager to recruit therapists to this area of practice and she has done so by presenting at the OSOT conference, participating in webinars and podcasts and as an adjunct professor at McMaster University and the University of Toronto.
