This webinar will examine the complex issue of intimacy, with an emphasis on older adults and dementia. The opportunities and challenges for the role of occupational therapy addressing this meaningful occupational will be discussed.
 

By the end of this webinar, you will:

  • Acknowledge personal biases and potential barriers to addressing sexual expression in older adults.
  • Understand myths and realities related to sexuality and aging.
  • Gain knowledge about possible intervention strategies as you develop increased comfort when approaching this sensitive topic.

About Our Presenter:

Sylvia Davidson (she/her), OT Reg. (Ont.)
is a recently retired occupational therapist who worked with older adults for most of her clinical career. She has practiced in acute care, rehabilitation, long term care and the community. She continues teaching and her work has focused on a wide range of topics that are relevant for older adults. Sylvia has never stopped learning from her patients and their families, and she believes strongly in the benefit of sharing our stories, listening to and learning from each other.
