Presenters:
Teresa Avvampato (she/her), OT Reg. (Ont.), MSc (OT), DSc (c), Durham College
is an occupational therapist with 20 years experience. Clinically, she has worked in paediatrics, mental health, acute care and private practice. For the past decade she has worked in post-secondary education, teaching as well as developing, launching, and evaluating new clinical and educational programs. She is also a professor, researcher and research coordinator. Teresa works with diverse community partners from research impact to quality of care when therapists work with assistants to expand treatment frequency, intensity, and access to rehabilitation. 

Debra Cooper (she/her), BAHSc, OTA/PTA, University Health Network - Lyndhurst, Spinal Cord brings over a decade of dedicated experience as an occupational therapist assistant and physiotherapist assistant, specializing in neurological rehabilitation and wheelchair seating. She is a passionate advocate for the OTA and PTA profession, clinical education, and fostering the enhancement of collaborative relationships between therapists and assistants. Debra actively contributes to the OTA & PTA College Education Accreditation Program and will be assuming a new role on their Joint Accreditation Committee as of October 2024. Since 2018, she has been the Chair of CAOT's OTA & PTA Practice Network, serving as an OTA representative and a dynamic collaborative partner. Recently, Debra was named the 2024 recipient of the prestigious Helen P. LeVesconte Award for volunteerism to celebrate her impactful contributions to occupational therapy in Canada.
