Date and Time: March 25, 2026 | 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm Eastern Time
Webinar Description:
There are many simple, body-based tools individuals can use to take control of their stress and pain levels. This webinar will focus on the Polyvagal Theory and the Polyvagal Curve, developed by Dr. Stephen Porges and the surrounding evidence and research. We will explore how this framework helps us understand the nervous system and the body’s responses to stress, chronic stress, and trauma. In addition, we will discuss practical ways to engage the vagus nerve to support self-regulation and re-establish a sense of safety within the nervous system. When we feel safer in our bodies, we can more easily access our social engagement system, which enables us to participate more fully in meaningful and functional activities. This approach highlights the value of incorporating body-based tools to manage stress responses and demonstrates how they can complement the mind-based strategies that many people already use.
By the end of this webinar you will:
- Identify 3 nervous systems states in the body and identify which nervous system state you are functioning in most of the time.
- Complete 3 vagus nerve body techniques and compare effectiveness based on pre/post measures.
- Briefly explain the Polyvagal Theory and Polyvagal Curve to clients.
