Webinar Description:
Occupational therapists are seeing more flexible, shift-based opportunities across multiple care settings. The real question is not whether opportunities exist — it is how to evaluate them confidently, with clear expectations, strong professional boundaries, and minimal surprises. In this live, interactive session, Peter Faist (Founder & CEO, Staffy) will walk through how Staffy’s on-demand marketplace functions for occupational therapy — from creating your professional profile to reviewing opportunity details and confirming a shift. More importantly, this session goes beyond platform mechanics. You will participate in a practical Shift-Fit Micro-Workshop using real-world scenarios, including: clarifying documentation expectations, confirming who owns the clinical record, understanding communication norms, identifying escalation pathways and accountability boundaries, and assessing scope comfort before committing. You will leave with a methodology designed to help you evaluate any opportunity — whether on Staffy or elsewhere — and a clearer framework for deciding when to accept, negotiate, or decline a shift. Time will be reserved for candid Q&A on flexibility, contractor expectations, onboarding realities, and what experienced OTs wish they had clarified before their first shift. Note: This webinar is informational only and does not constitute legal or regulatory advice. Attendees are responsible for confirming requirements with their regulator and/or employer.
By the end of this webinar you will:
- Describe the lifecycle of an on-demand OT opportunity on Staffy (profile → opportunity review →confirmation → shift completion → earnings).
- Apply a structured Checklist to evaluate alignment with scope, setting readiness, and documentation standards.
- Identify key “fit factors” to confirm before committing, including documentation ownership, privacy responsibilities, communication norms, and escalation processes.
- Distinguish practical differences between traditional employment and independent contractor-style shift work.
- Outline common onboarding and verification requirements for OT opportunities (e.g., registration in good standing, police check, references, professional liability insurance, and other healthcare documentation).
