ALS, or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, is a progressive neuro degenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord resulting in progressive paralysis of the muscles of the body. This webinar will update occupational therapists about the services available through the ALS Society of Canada - in particular how to effectively access the equipment loan program.
Learning objectives: Understand the progression of ALS. Recognize the supports and services available to people living with ALS. Explain the available programs to patients. Understand the need to plan ahead for ALS patients/clients, particularly for their equipment needs.
