Description of Opportunity

Occupational Therapist for Driver Rehabiliation

DriveLab Inc. is looking to add to our team an experienced Occupational Therapist knowledgeable in working with individuals with diverse medical conditions/disabilities. Experience in driver rehabilitation preferred; however, we are committed to mentoring/training individuals motivated to work in the field of driver rehabilitation.

Our expert driving rehabilitation team provides assessment and treatment to at-risk drivers referred by the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario (Medical Review), insurance companies, law firms, family physicians and other health care professionals. Driving rehabilitation assists people to maintain active and independent lifestyles and make a difference in people’s lives.

What you offer:

  • Master’s Degree or recognized equivalent in Occupational Therapy.
  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario.
  • Liability Insurance.
  • Have experience in the field of driving rehabilitation and/or have completed the certificate from McGill University “Graduate Certificate in Driving Rehabilitation”, preferred.
  • You have 3+ years of clinical experience with assessment, treatment and report writing.
  • Have strong skills in critical thinking, analysis and decision making.
  • Experience with orthopaedic injuries, cognitive impairments and anxiety (driver and passenger). Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, an asset.
  • You are internally motivated and able to work independently.
  • You can develop and defend your clinical opinions both orally and in writing.
  • You have access to a reliable vehicle, possession of a valid Ontario Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel within your service area.
