Description of Opportunity

Aspire Rehab is a boutique community-based Occupational Therapy (OT) service specializing in the management of traumatic brain, acquired neurological, and severe orthopedic injuries. We provide quality OT services to clients within home, community, work and school settings. Established in 2017, Aspire Rehab's commitment to providing superior service for our clients and our referral partners has resulted in continued organizational growth. There is now an exciting opportunity for a Senior Occupational Therapist to join our team, on a casual basis. 

Aspire Rehab is seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Occupational Therapist. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate 5+ years of experience, some of which will have been working in the auto industry, plaintiff side. The role requires autonomy in practice, so the successful applicant will be comfortable working independently and be seeking challenge and advancement in their industry of expertise. Familiarity with the SABS is essential, as is the confidence and competence to be a strong advocate for client needs. The position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills and includes remote communication with team members, clients and referral partners. As a senior role, supervisory experience is desirable, along with any specialization in OT. Aspire Rehab is passionate about helping others and we are searching for like-minded practitioners. Experience, or a strong interest, in the operations and development of a small, growing business is also highly desirable.

The Senior Occupational Therapist will be responsible for completion of professional activities that include, but are not limited to:

  • Assessment and treatment of clients, including the creation of treatment plans
  • Maintaining neat, current and accurate clinical notes and records
  • Assisting clients in establishing and meeting meaninful goals within their home and community settings 
  • Liaising with various community partners and rehab professionals to facilitate client goals and independence
  • Quality and timely writing of reports including assessments, progress reports and justification letters 
  • Business development and adancement through professional practice and excellent communication with referral partners and networks 
  • Supervision of students, junior staff and broader team, as required. 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum Master's degree in occupational therapy, or equivalent
  • Registered, and in good standing, with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
  • Minimum of 5 years experience providing OT services to motor vehicle accident victims
  • Valid Driver's License and access to an automobile
  • Valid liability insurance
  • Expertise in specific areas of OT will be considered an asset.
