Martel & Mitchell Physiotherapy is currently seeking a full or part time Registered Occupational Therapist. A Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent is required, in addition to being registered with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario. Experience is an asset; however, new graduates are encouraged to apply as well. Candidates should possess a valid driver’s license.

Clinical responsibilities as a Registered Occupational Therapist with Martel & Mitchell Physiotherapy include but are not limited to: hospital discharge planning, assessment of attendant care needs, functional assessments, in home safety assessments, worksite and job demands analysis, ergonomic assessments, functional capacity evaluations, job coaching, seating and mobility, as well as equipment and assistive device prescription. Treatment services include developing, facilitating, and monitoring goal directed return to daily living programs; in addition to providing education to facilitate participation in meaningful occupations. Clients are seen in clinical and community settings. Assessment and treatment services include working with clients who have sustained acquired brain injuries, traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, multiple traumas, complex orthopaedic injuries, and mental health conditions.
Successful candidates will possess excellent oral and written communication skills, strong clinical reasoning skills, excellent interpersonal skills, be a motivated self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment, ability to work independently as well as on a team. Experience working in the MVA sector is an asset.
