OSOT Provides Feedback on the National Safe Long-Term Care Act

Last week OSOT provided feedback on the request for input on the National Safe Long-Term Care Act. As the consultation is national, OSOT collaborated with the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapy (CAOT) to ensure our input focuses on Ontario. The recommendations are organized into four main sections:
  • Improve Quality and Safety
  • Implement New National Long-term Care Standards
  • Focus on Health Human Resources
  • Strengthen Transparency, Accountability and Public Reporting
OSOT stressed the importance of person-centered care within an interprofessional team, where professionals work to their full scope of practice to support safe, equitable services that optimize individuals’ quality of life and independence. Read the submission.
